Our Wines
Franki’s Vineyards has been established as a pioneering venture, which does not follow the conventional patterns of the local wine industry from the selection of cultivars, through to the specially tailored ‘goblet’ vine training system.
22 hectares are used to grow our Grenache, Mourvèdre and Viognier from which we make a small selection of wine.
At Franki’s Vineyards boutique winery we have focused on a Rhone style blend from our ‘gobelet’ style bush vines. The blend is made from Mourvedre (highest percentage) and Grenache grapes grown on the estate and the Shiraz grapes are sourced locally from Riebeek Valley. The blend was matured in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak and bottled after one year. Only 4500 bottles of each vintage has been produced. The ‘Next Generation’ label is a representation of the owner’s love for his grandchildren and the ‘Final Edition’ is the last vintage produced after winemaker Erica Joubert retired. All wines are available from the cellar door by appointment and in some boutique wine shops.
